Abstract
Upon Norman Dorsen’s retirement as editor of the International Journal of Constitutional Law, our colleague Joseph Weiler organized two issues in tribute to Norman’s intellectual stewardship. Rather than the customary festschrift, Joseph, as the new editor, invited 20 colleagues from the U.S. and abroad to submit short pieces on the ten most influential works in their personal intellectual development. This proved an odd but also surprisingly engrossing undertaking. This is my contribution to the collective tribute to Norman.
